Recognize this pattern? It’s Vogue 8278...again. I thought it might be a good idea to continue the knit sewing trend..I like to make things more than once just to make sure it wasn’t a fluke that it turned out the first time. Again, this pattern was super easy to make and if you can get your hands on a copy…make it! Â As much as I loved making this pattern, I love this fabric even more. It is soooo soft!! I can’t remember the content, I’m sure that it is some sort of poly but I couldn’t care less. It just feels so good.
I had enough of this fabric to make a longer sash this time but still not enough to have any choice with the pattern placement. I think it looks fine and I’m not sure having more fabric would have made it any better. I am pleased that the navy section of the fabric ended up closer to my face…it’s just a better color on me and kind of makes it look like a yoke. Both good things.
Here I go again with my catwalk pics… much better than jumping, don’t you think?
Here you can see the color palette up close. I have paired this with my navy cardigan on cooler days and can foresee wearing this dress a lot.
So there you have it…two knit projects. I am feeling pretty good about myself and want to continue to sew up some knits.
Very chic:) You look great, as always Margo! Haha, I think polyester/spandex knit is my favourite fabric! Obviously wovens are easier to sew with, but I love polyester/spandex for dresses:)
Same pattern yet two different looks. Both so lovely on you!!! You do have a reason to feel good about sewing with knits. Great job, as always. I look forward to all your posts.

I think it looks lovely. Great choice of colour.
I"m glad you are enjoying knits! Now to make some cozy things for fall and winter!
I love this. It looks like the perfect comfortable and stylish dress and the fabric is gorgeous.
Really nice dress! The print is great – and the placement looks very intentional. Even better that it's super soft!
Your dress is just lovely! gorgeous print and the simple shape shows it off beautifully. What does the back look like?
Long live knit dresses. I always want to challenge myself with more, uh, interesting fabrics, but the things in my closet that I actually reach for are the knit dresses, every time. Love this make.
Thanks Rikki! I'm hoping to get the hang of this knits thing because you are so right….they are so nice to wear!
I'm so glad to hear that you think the placement look intentional! Whew. Thanks Noelle!
It truly is like wearing pajamas…super soft and comfy. Being stylish is a bonus!
Me too! I wish you could feel how soft this fabric is!
Thanks Rachel!
Thank you Alemeda! I always look forward to reading your lovely comments.
Thanks Sara!
As I went through the photos, I realized that I didn't take a single picture of the back!! I'm not sure what happened…oops. I must remember for next time! Thanks Carolyn!
It's beautiful!
Thank you Jeanette!
Very nice looking dress and print and a great combo with that pattern.
Pretty dress! I can see how soft your fabric choice and the prints are so lovely 🙂 Very neat job as always 🙂
The navy really looks like a yoke, and totally intentional too!
I love this fabric – what a great combo! Very chic – yet comfy!
Both of your knit dresses look wonderful. Such a simple pattern, but so effective – and a new dress wardrobe in next to no time.
I really like this! Reminds me of the Kielo dress by Named patterns. http://sewsincity.com
Your dress is so pretty and it looks wonderful on you. Gorgeous pattern making.
